Meet Trix, the Cavoodle puppy Audiology South is sponsoring to become a Hearing Dog.

Trix was born on 6 May 2022 and is at the ‘sound work’ stage of her training. She has already learned a few of her basic commands working with trainer Tracey. It will probably be a full year before Trix is ready to graduate as a qualified Hearing Dog.
Sponsorship from Audiology South pays for the puppy training; equipment such as jackets, bedding, leads, collars and food; vet bills; and costs associated with matching the puppy with a Deaf person. 8 Hearing Dogs were placed with Deaf people from Whangarei to Invercargill in 2022.
